A.  An Overview of Quality Rating Systems

The presentation will provide a national overview of quality rating systems. The presentation will highlight various State systems and their differences due to the individualized needs of the States. Discussions will explore some of the issues of developing, implementing and maintaining a quality rating system, such as what will be the quality criteria, and the application of these criteria, and whether there is an infrastructure to support the system, and the success of the programs. Research on quality rating systems and the impact on child care quality will also be shared.
